A boiler is an indoor vessel that gives a way for combustion and transfers heat to water until it becomes predicament or steam. The hot water or steam struggling is then usable for transferring the warmth to a process. Water is beneficial and cheap medium for transferring heat to a process. When water is boiled it turns into steam.
Its volume increases by about 1,600 times. This creates a force that is explosive like gunpowder. This causes the boiler to be extremely dangerous equipment and will be treated carefully. Liquid when heated up to the gaseous state this process is called evaporation. The heating surface is any a part of the boiler; hot gases of combustion are on one side and water on the opposite .
Any a part of the boiler metal that really contributes to creating steam is heating surface. The volume of the boiler’s heating surface is measured in square meters. The larger the heating surface in the boiler, the more efficient it is.
Process In Boiler
The boiler system is made up of:
- Feed water system
- Steam system
- Fuel system
The feed water system provides water to the boiler and regulates it automatically to satisfy the steam demand. The water supplied to boiler that’s converted to steam is named feed water. The Source of feed water are: Condensate or condensed steam returned from the processes
Makeup water which is that the raw water which must come from outside the boiler room and plant processes.
- The steam system collects and controls the steam produced within the boiler. Steam is directed through a piping system to the purpose of use.
- When vapor pressure throughout the system is regulated using valves the steam pressure gauge is checked simultaneously.
The equipment shall not include all equipment to provide fuel to obtain the required heat. The equipment required within the equipment depends on the type of fuel used in the system. Three types of fuel are used in boilers such as oil boiler, gas boiler, electric boiler.
